The
Science Of NLP |
 |
While to the advanced NLP’er
there are no (conscious) models, only infinite flexibility, models
are also useful, to the beginner, as a map for shared understanding
and as the basis for simplicity and peak performance.
Probably the best NLP model set around is “DBM”,
developed by John McWhirter. The most useful mapping of NLP tools
currently available is to look at John’s series of papers “Re-Modelling
NLP” – see his website or the relevant Issues of Rapport.
It
is up to all of us to consider how to upgrade our NLP Operating System
to embrace DBM. |
 |
Brian Van Der Horst is actively interested in the mapping of the current
models.
The area of research being undertaken in the short-term:
Free-Form Modelling is being done in the context of modelling how Penny
and James modelled
David Grove while “not being allowed to model”. Phil Swallow
and Steve Saunders are working with Penny and James on this topic.
a) An initial modelling has been developed of how Penny & James
modelled David Grove "without being allowed to model" - to
quote DG: "I don't even want to know you're in the room." When
we are happy with it we will share it.
b) We have been discussing the basics of why change works for some people
and not for others some times. We are currently exploring the most promising
avenues to enable us all to guarantee our change work.
